A creative marketing and business development leader, Johanna is known for her ability to integrate inventive marketing tactics with business development strategies to drive results for AEC firms and organizations.

She has held executive marketing and business development positions with global leaders B+H Architects, Forrec Inc. and Stantec Inc., where she established global marketing and BD infrastructures, devised BD strategies to meet target KPIs and revenue targets, and led successful market entries into Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. 

Prior to working client-side, Johanna led Buzz Marketing & Public Relations, delivering strategic communications, media and community relations, promotions, special event management and sponsorship development services for design firms and organizations [IIDEX/ARIDO, The Financial Post/DX Design Effectiveness Awards, burdifilek, Cecconi Simone, Gluckstein Design Planning, Levitt Goodman Architects, Watt Design Group, and Zeidler Roberts Partnership], and for global consumer brands and organizations [Absolut Vodka, Coca Cola/Minute Maid Canada, Hard Rock Café, M&M/Mars USA, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Zellers Inc., Corus Entertainment, Telemedia, The Canadian Booksellers Association and The Canadian Cancer Society].

A passionate volunteer, she was a Public Art Commissioner for the City of Toronto and the Chair of the Red Ribbon Campaign. She has served on the Boards of Directors of Canada’s Ballet Jörgen, Arts Toronto/the Arts Foundation of Greater Toronto, Tapestry NewOperaWorks and Fife House Foundation.

Our passionate ‘brand fixer’, Rick is a senior marketing communications leader who’s in his element launching, positioning, repositioning and strategizing brands. He honed his talent leading accounts at global giant Young and Rubicam, and Canadian icon Bensimon Byrne. Working client side he led Meridian Credit Union and launched Samsung in Canada. His work has included above and below the line marketing, TV, radio, web, social, print, outdoor and in-store marketing. Clients that have included Uncle Ben’s, Brita, Western Union, President’s Choice, Ford and Novell, among a healthy list of other global and local brands.

David’s extensive media relations and expertise in writing and photography help ensure effective PR campaigns and strong results for clients in the A&D community, whose work he has placed in over 100 periodicals, from Architectural Digest to Zoomer. He has held key roles at major design publications in Canada and the United States, including The Globe and Mail’s founding Fashion and Design Editor, Editor‐in‐Chief of Canadian Interiors, design columnist for The Los Angeles Times, Canadian correspondent for Interior Design and OfficeInsight, and as a member of  Canadian House and Home’s editorial board.

Before starting David Lasker Communications, David was Vice President at MarketLink Communications, where his clients included Artemide, HBF, HOK, IBI Group, Nienkamper, Teknion, Sylvania, and Global Group, Canada’s largest manufacturer of office and healthcare furniture.  As an architectural photographer, he has worked for high-profile firms including Johnson Chou Design, Kasian, and The Ventin Group Architects (+VG).

Gordon Grice

Gordon Grice, B.ARCH, OAA, FRAIC

Gordon is an architectural communications strategist, with a professional background that includes architectural practice, editing, writing, illustration, art direction and creative direction. Over the past 25 years, he has published over two-dozen books, 90 issues of architectural quarterlies, monographs, building profiles, editorial pieces and essays for various books and periodicals. 

Gordon is a consultant to the Ontario Association of Architects insurance program, a senior advisor to the American Society of Architectural Illustrators, a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and a member of the Massey College Quadrangle Society. For distinguished service to the architectural profession, he has been awarded the OAA medal of the Order of Da Vinci, and for his contribution to architectural illustration, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Architectural Illustrators.
